Cancer Care Muppetry

Mother in Law has had breast cancer over the last 3 years. Thankfully she is now in remission but I thought I'd relay to you something that happened today that really makes you want to throttle some pigeon English speaking import Doctor who takes a patient to hell and back without batting an eyelid.
Following a mammogram and whilst in the consultation with my MiL during a periodic check up, the object of my annoyance said to my MiL "You HAVE a lump".
Apparently what followed was a 2 minute clarification session where he said this again a couple of times whilst my sister in law determined this div didn't understand the difference between HAVE and HAD. Quite an important distinction as my ashen faced MiL would tell you.
This on top of them giving her triple the dose of Herceptin during her treatment. You think when a course costs £20k per year they'd get that right eh? And as it's such a new drug they don't know whether it will have any long term affects.
No apology for that by the way.
Oh, did I forget to mention they wrote to her saying they'd lost a USB stick with full details of her treatment? Silly me.
3/3 then. Well done.

Yes, not uncommon.
My mum is undergoing chemo for lung cancer, after the 3rd treatment of 6 she had some xrays taken and was told 'the cancer had completely gone from your lungs' (HOOOORAY!!!!) 'BUT it's now in your bones' (UH OH......) They cancelled her chemo treatment and sent her home. 2 hours later they called and said sorry we've made a mistake... The cancer is still in your lungs and is incurable, it's also in your liver but it isn't in your bones... we think...
