Not a rant, I just wondered if you are at all aware or conscious of the fact that it smells. If I go into a meeting and just one person has had a cigarette before hand the whole room will fill with the smell of cigarettes!

I used to be a smoker (the worst type I know) but I was never aware of the aroma it could create!

It's odd, as a non-smokers, you'd think I would hate the smell, but I don't...I actually really miss the smell of a smokey pub.

It's the taste that gets me though hurl

Yes, bloody awful stink...

If someone brings it into my car, I try to rustle up an obnoxious fart by way of retaliation...

I smoke and am aware. As such, I keep a small bottle of aftershave in the car and have a quick spritz before going into any meetings (I'm not office-based).

It works, because people will often comment on how nice the aftershave is and those who haven't met me before are often surprised to find out that I smoke. In response to the comment above about roll-ups smelling 'less' than fags, I smoke the former so perhaps this plays a part.

On a topic that is actually aimed at smokers.
The titles says...."Smokers....."
Why do non smokers and ex smokers feel they have to come and add their predictable two pennorth?

And yes we know it does.

"Because people like to feel superior and smug" is probably the answer to that one cazzer.

Well bugger me blind with a baseball bat! Who would have thought that smokers smell of smoke?

Thank you for bringing that to my attention

I know what you mean. I`m an ex-smoker and cannot stand the smell on people (did`nt realise just how much I smelt) but the smell of a smoky pub is something I do miss.

It's because they love delicious Marlboro, and still hunger for them deeply, so you'll find it's only the ex-smokers who want to wipe it off the face of the earth, and try to convince themselves of reasons not to smoke.

It's not that bad, just try one again. One won't hurt, you've managed to give up, and one cigarette is just like being in a smokey room.
The horrible taste will put you off, it'll remind you why you quit.
Just a crafty one in the back garden...

I find that smokers who are generally clean only smell of smoke for a few minutes after a fag. Smokers that aren't always smell of smoke. There are also plenty of none smokers that smell and don't seem to know it. So, what you are basically pointing out is that things can have an odour. Well done, I'm sure the internet feels enlightened.

I didn't point out anything. I asked if the smokers are aware that they smell of smoke. The ones I deal with either don't know or don't give a fk if they do.

Surely the correct term is "Well fk me with the blunt end of a ragman's trumpet"?

I fooking cant stand it when Im giving someone a lift home from work, I have to lock the shop up, send a few things on the computer etc so I usually get this;
"Ill just wait outside"
then I let them into the car and they reek of fags. Itd be okay of it was cigars or something but no, its fags, which smell of working class people. Great.

The smell of st only lingers around smokers for a couple of minutes. After a while it just vanishes.

Oddly Ex smokers tend to notice it a lot more than people that have never smoked.

I know it makes me stink, but it also makes me look cool, so it all evens out really! smile

For fks sake, why do you think pubs smell different now? Are you that nasally retarded that you hadn't even realised the aroma it gives off? Did you never, ever meet a smoker before you started to smoke?

FWIW, I couldn't care less, I even let people smoke in my house if I'm having a party as the aroma disappears quite quickly. I gave up 18 months ago BTW.
you are aware that I asked smokers if they could smell it. As my original post points out, I quite clearly can. So no, I do not suffer from a retarded nasal
