Slightly off topic but Michael Aspel tells the story of his days as a DJ at Capital FM. He had lined up a record but decided to take a call.
The caller made a really emotional dedication to his wife. She'd separated from him but, after months of reconciliation, she'd decided to return to him and make a go of their marriage. Michael was blown away by the story and dedicated the next song to them, simultaneously letting the turntable spin.
Only after he'd done so did he realise the record on the turntable was Elton John's "The b
h is Back"...

oh have another
when DJ'ing weddings years ago, I was asked more than once for the record "Band of Gold" as a wedding record.
YES, it's about a wedding ring, well done, but have you listened to ANY OTHER of the lyrics? Or are you too stupid to realise that "Since you've been gone, all that's left is a band of gold" is NOT a romatic homage to the institute of marriage?
