We're all about finding ways of raising discretionary revenue so we can keep lowering the cost of air travel
So in actual fact you are doing nothing more than lowering the advertised cost of your product but loading the final bill with necessary extras. Will you or any of your fellow passengers require breathable air on the flight?
Will you or any of your fellow passengers require an upgrade to the pressurised section of the cabin?
Stupid tosspot.
Sadly I will be using Ryanair to get to Spain in the summer.
Out of principle for their horrendous prices, I won't be paying for a drink, I won't be buying food onboard, and I can assure you I won't be paying if I need a piss.
I have already paid my taxes both ways. As this is no more than a tax I have already paid my quid thanks.

Customers do usually have a choice though - fly RyanAir and pay for every little thing individually or fly someone else for a higher base cost and pay no extra for anything else.
Presumably RyanAir reckon that they can continue to fill flights despite this policy. Good luck to them. If I need to fly a route that they serve I'll have to decide whether to use them or an alternative (that may include using different airports).

I don't understand how he's going to get rid of all of his check-in desks and just have a bag drop desk.
As from later this year, all European airlines/flights will have to fall in line with Spain as regards Advance Passenger Information.
When you book a flight you'll have to provide your passport information, which will be checked against your ticket upon check-in. One digit wrong and you don't fly.
So who's going to check this info?
The staff at the "bag-drop" desk? So... that'd be like... umm.... checking-in then?

Unfortunately where I need to fly is only serviced by Ryanair. BA etc don't fly to Europe Spain from East Mids or even Birmingham now.
I do however have the DDI of one of the main board directors at Ryan air, and trust that was some detective work. Used it once and it is amazing how good Ryan air custoemr care can be.....

I had this on an Easyjet flight to Barcelona last month - I could still check in online and didn't have to go to the desks at all (hand luggage only) so don't know where they checked passport number submitted to passport carried. The thing that gets my goat is the charges he applies to credit / debit card handling. IIRC it costs around 2 pence per transaction and not the £3+ he charges.
Per passenger too - not for the transaction.£20.93 GBP Taxes, Fees & Charges
I think that charge comprises more than just the Credit Card costs. (Had forgotten that it's per passenger and not just for the booking.)

He said this would not inconvenience passengers travelling without cash. "I don't think there is anybody in history that has got on board a Ryanair aircraft with less than a pound."
I regularly fly without any change - just to save digging it all out at securitythen again, I usually don't need to pee on a plane so desperately that I want to fight my way past the orange costumed lottery ticket/expensive coffee/pringles sales staff either (in the rare event that i'm ever on von ryan's express)
