Just had a little add up of spends over the last year - a shade over 10k was spent at Tesco on food and petrol that is for a 2 person household.

I am so ashamed.

Scary - you've just made me realise how much I spend on fuel every week..! I fill a 55-litre tank every 2 days with Tesco 99.. yikes

ETA: Assuming £50 per fill up, that's £10k a year just on PETROL..

Yeah petrol included, I just found it interesting that I was spending so much with one company.

Cor! and to think I was beating myself up on our £6k a year at Sainsburys. That's for a family of 5 but not including petrol/diesel.

We don't drive much anymore so our fuel is about £1.2K a year. Both cars return about 19 mpg around town.

You need to diversify. May i suggest the cheaper items (e.g. bog-roll and beer) from Asdas, better quality (meats, cheeses, fruit-based ales) from Waitrose or M&S.

But then you use more petrol, and the money equals out again. It's still 10 grand just on weekly shops and petrol. Scary (am jealous really hehe)
