Looking for a new phone at the moment and not bought one for a couple of years so can appreciate they have change a bit!
As I've been looking around I'm still not really sure what to get budget is up to £200, don't mind buying from ebay within reason (nothing too scratched).
With regards to wifi phones, does that mean you can use the internet for free on your phone and email people?
Would also like to use the phone as an organiser.

You can if you're sat at home and using your wi-fi connection or a friends. Otherwise you'd need hotspot such as at a coffee shop, McDonalds on the train etc. Can't recommend a phone as don't have a wi-fi enabled one myself.

Are you going onto a contract? What do you want to use the phone for? Is a good camera important?
I wasn't thinking of going on a contract, no.I want to use it for emails and internet at uni, also for putting music on, would like a radio on the phone and a good calender / diary.
Camera doesn't matter one bit

I know this comes up often, and is pretty much my default answer these days.
But it's the only phone I've ever had that I'm really happy with and actually use the capabilities of it.
Thanks everyone, just looked on Vodafone at the HTC Magic, looks a fab phone but will no doubt be a hefty price!!
iPhone - I can't get one for £200 can I?
Nokia NSeries - I did have for the grand total of a month when they first came out an M95 and had nothing but trouble, also know a lot of other people who had lots of trouble with this phone have they improved?

What about a Blackberry Pearl? Orange are asking £145 so you'd probably get one for less. Has Wi-Fi, music player and Blackberrys are famed for their email prowess. Doubt you'll get an iPhone for that sort of cash. Not massive either.
The Pearl is crap, though.moleamol said:

The Pearl is crap, though.Fine as a business tool to read plain text emails and control your diary. Useless for anything else.
Yes, I did try browsing the 'net with it whilst waiting for breakfast in hotels, but I gave up very quickly on that idea. Forget any idea of looking at Office documents on it, too - even Word docs with tables are an absolute PITA to read, and forget looking at PDFs.
They're built down to a price - the USB socket broke on mine at about 11 months and it was looking very tatty by then.
If the OP can't find or doesn't want an iPhone, I'd suggest looking at the WinMobile devices here:

Some cracking deals on there.
