Just had an idea for a thread.

If you know of anything being given away, why not publicise it on here ?

For example - The Mail on Sunday are giving away a free Pet Shop Boys Greatest Hits CD next Sunday 8th March. OK, it may not be everybodys cup of tea but hey, maybe you like them and would be glad you saw this thread ?

Anything else anyone wants to add ? It could be anything that people might like, literally.

I think that's a good idea!

The Government are apparently giving away lots of taxpayers money at the moment, but I think you have to work in banking to qualify?

I have...

One single bed going free. Mattress will need a bloody good airing though as it's been sat in a cold damp room since year zero!
One utterly knackered asbestos garage. Totally useless, possibly a health hazard, but hey, someone might have an 'old knackered asbestos garage' fetish.

If anyone wants this st they're welcome to it. To take the bed the council expect me to leave it sat on the drive for up to two weeks and the garage costs too much to have disposed of.

I realise this is possibly not what the thread was intended for!

I have to offer a pair of 1988 size 5 Roller Boots, blue with rainbow decal, which i'd like to swop please for a 4l 2005 TVR Sagaris low miles in iced titanium. Would also consider in pumpkin orange or a full touuring sports spec Exige S2 at a push.

I had a very nice three piece suite that was no longer required, due to a new one arriving, put a message on the P&P and a fellow pistonheader came up the next day with a van and took it away with no money changing hands......

Oddly, I saw on TV yesterday, ferrets are now the 3rd most popular pet in the USA. No idea why.

OK, well, I have some free stuff sat in my garage:

Spacesaver spare wheel for a 4-stud Fiat. (should fit anything Tipo derived, ie. Tipo / Tempra / Bravo/a, Marea, Coupe and any 4-stud Alfa of the same era)

MkI Golf Cabrio roof. Good metal frame, but knackered outer fabric.

MkI Golf GTI Exhaust system.

Rentec sports rack for a TRX850.

Hepco & Becker panner frames and top box rack for a Yamaha 600 Diversion.

There are two size 5s...I'm sure you could have them modified?


BTW Yahoo run what's known as Freecycle for local people. It gives a fast response (collections within hours sometimes), great for off loading broken flower pots that you can't be bothered to take to the landfill...Last year I saw a boat with trailer go, new set of golf clubs with bag and a couple of cars and reasonable PCs.

Having said that I some beautiful huge vintage brown leather sofas thanks to HRG.

Thing in the paper yesterday, a warehouse is giving away all its stock of books , 10's of thousands were in there as people went in with vans and loaded them up!

Just looked a my local freecycle. I am going to unsubscribe immediately, rusty bicycles, white melamine chipboard cupboards, and some pikey advertising the whereabouts of a skip that can be raided for old tat
