Im flying to LA on Thursday and picking up a Harley on Friday morning for a cruise to Vegas. Wheres a good place to spend one night? fancy something not too far from LAX as I have to go back there in the morning to get the bikes but where we can have a good night out.

I've stayed at the LAX Hilton a few times. It has a nice sports bar.

Marina Del Rey isn't too far from LAX if you fancied a view of the pacific.

+1 Lovely hotel. Manhattan Beach itself is a 10-15 minute drive from LAX and is a great little neighbourhood.

Another vote for Marina Del Rey. Spent our first honeymoon night there before heading up the coast and it was nice waking up right on the water front and having beakfast on our balcony. IIRC it's only 30 minutes from the airport but that was at night with little traffic on the road.
This was the hotel http://www.marinadelreyhotel.com/

It was fairly basic but fine for a single night and the location was great. Just up the road is Chequered Flag cars and they always have something interesting to see. http://www.chequeredflag.com/

Only if waking up on the curb on your knees with pants pulled down and your a$$ up in the air, wallet gone, and head hurting from a pistol whipping is like one night in Paris. hehe.

Just come back from there.

Hilton LAX is OK, has a cheap shuttle to Manhattan Breach, with a beach, shops, mall.

Hyatt Long Beach was also OK, near all the bars + life + Queen Mary

Santa Monica is a nice place to stay, nice vibe and shops, eateries etc.

can't remember the name but there is a 'chain' hotel in Hermosa beach where all the BA hostesses stay when stopping over, I had a 'pleasant' couple of days there biggrin
