I found this morning in my garden some tin foil wrapped up in a cigar shape which clearly had been burned at one end.
Carefull unwrapping showed the tin foil was brown inside.

I rang FRANK who confirmed it was used to smoke heroin.

My shed door was also open but no obvious sign of anyone having been in there ie nothing was stolen/missing/messed up.

Frank suggested it was probaby a one off and to padlock the shed (will be done tonight)
But i have 2 toddlers, how worried do i need to be they'll come across needles next? Should i report it to the police, will they be remotely interested?

I doubt it.

Just wait in the shed with a shotgun tonight.

Fill your shed up with junk so they can't get in there. Junkies will then move somewhere else.

If it was just a one off junkie looking for somewhere dry to smoke type thing I wouldn't worry. If the shed is locked they will probably just move on and find somewhere easier.

Fit a powerful motion activated light on the outside of the house & a padlock on the shed. Should act as enough of a deterrent to move them on elsewhere.

I also have young kids & would be worried about them coming across needles.

I found a used needle in my garden last week, came from next door. The police are aware that drugs are being dealt and nothing has been done.

Maybe you need some lights or a camera.

We do have a motion sensor light but the garden is huge and the shed a fair way down. Plus we go to bed rather early and our room is at the front of the house.

Are these community support officers any cop?

I would go with having a good tidy up and root around. Not much more you can do really. May as well bin it and comb the area to make sure there is nothing else around.

Grimey but ultimately not much anyone can do.

Id understand if i lived on an estate but its quite a "posh" road (i have the worst house on the nicest street!) and pretty much we are the youngest people there. It's all very old.

In the past, drug addicts have been known to 'walk'. I'll go look for some photos.

Can't see anything wrong with mentioning it at the station, they may patrol round your neck of the woods for a night or two? They may not but there's no harm in doing that I'd not have thought.

And you know not all junkies are dole-scum dossers living on estates, right?
