..sat here at work in Winchester, and its gone from light rain 20 mins or so ago, to quite heavy snow which is actually laying. Should make the drive home interesting to say the least. I wonder if everything will grind to a halt like it did a few weeks ago?

it's settled in 4 Mx but it's only a covering. The roads'll be slippery though.

At present we're totally snowed-in here in the Weymouth/Portland area. My missus is a school teacher and all of the local schools are shut. It's as bad here as it's been in a good number of years apparently, although to be fair it will be clear later today.

Interestingly the national news has hardly mentioned it. rolleyes

So hands up who's getting boared of the "Is it snowing where you are" & " It's snowing in xxxxxx" threads this year.

It's only snow, when the Gulf Stream finally moves away we will see much more of it, so get used to it & carry on as usual.

Rant over, sorry.

Well a simple exchange of information amongst those affected seems a pretty sensible and valid notion.

I'm quite bored of threads about crappy Fiat 500 cars, but I simply choose not to read them or post on them. rolleyes

Fair point. Perhaps the thread should be moved to (and indeed originally raised in) the regoinal forum.

Well, I'm in Buckinghamshire, and wouldn't normally look at other regions threads, but I am interested that there is snow 2 counties away ('cos it might well arrive here soon)

Don't often get to say its snowing on the south coast though!

Seems very local - snowing very heavily and settling in Bournemouth, but a few miles east along the coast just rain and no sign of snow!

O/T - Ollie - You didn't used to play for Sparsholt Football Club did you?

About an inch of snow in the New Forest this morning but clear by the time I got to the A36. We seem to catch the worst of it being high up.

I had to catch myself this morning as when I looked out the window at six o'clock instead of being filled with wonderment my first thought was "oh st, here we go again."
