lets assume 34yo single male, no dependents, decent job, homeowner, savings etc... but no retirement planning in place.
With the markets at such a low would it be a good time to start a plan and if so what would be a recommended monthly amount?
Not really expecting the greatest advice from this forum but though i would open up the question all the same..

I don't think there is ever a bad time to save.......

Rather than thinking specifically about a Pension perhaps think more in terms of a long term savings/investment strategy. So you want some long term very secure & not very exciting stuff & some a bit more short term & risky but with higher returns.

Whether you think that exists in bonds, property, premium bonds, equities or bank deposits or a balance of all is up to you.

Investigate SIPPs & Use youre ISA allowances somewhere in the mix.

Oh and stay on-shore & don't bother trying to hide anything - I suspect doing that is going to be far more trouble than its worth in the next few years.
