Afternoon All.

Does any smart boffin on here know what rates HSBC use when receiving EURO's from a foriegn bank account. Do they publish this data daily?

I have heard a rumour that they take the piss somewhat compared to other banks with there rates.

Any info would be appreciated.

Wouldn't you get the rate of the bank sending the money to your HSBC account?

The last transfer I did on 24th Feb used a rate of 1.1621000 compared to the noon mid-market rate of 1.1304605801 according to xe.com

Get a foreign currency account in HSBC then get the Euro transferred into it, free, no charge.

When you want to convert it, transfer the Euro's to your GBP account, they are normally 0.01 or 0.02 above the quoted exchange rate on xe.com

I do it every month with $US. I generally wait for the exchange rate to be in my favour before i change to pounds, as you know the rates bouncing around at the moment so just sit for a day or two, it will come good.
