I doubt anyone would spay a kitten at 12 weeks old, not a small op IIRC!

It could be sold

think cats can normally be spayed at around 3 1/2 months onwards depending on their development.

Get in touch with your local Cats Protection branch, plenty of deserving kittehs waiting for a good home. Don't encourage cat breeders by buying from them.

Cats are usually spayed or neutered within the first six months of life.

My 5 month old kitten has been on heat recently so I took her to the vet to be spayed.

They said she was too young to be done and I should take her back in 8 weeks as she hasn't "fully developed" yet.

Not much chance of finding a Burmese at a cat rescue to be honest.

They do come up now and again.

Now and again? Breeders have them all the time wink I like the idea of cat rescue places, but if you are after a particular breed then it's difficult getting hold of one from the rescue (unless you are really lucky).

The most important thing about a cat is its personality, not its looks.

I agree. I'd love another Main Coon. However, in the meantime we have three rescue cats.

I find the selection and quality better in the Waitrose bins.
