LA's "Watchmen" prompted me to think about this.

What is, in your opinion, the best Superhero movie, and conversely, the worst?

After careful reflection for at least thirty seconds I still believe that the best of them all is the original Christopher Reeve 1978 "Superman". Followed possibly by Batman Begins, and the recent Spiderman series.

Worst?

Has to be George Clooney's Batman (but Alicia Silverstone was gorgeous...)

The Dark Knight, or The Crow would probably be at the top.

Daredevil would probably be the worst, just pipping The Hulk.

Best for me is Batman Begins, which I reckon pipped the Dark Knight which is also excellent.

Worst? Well I'll agree, it's not possible to drop lower than the nadir that was Batman & Robin. Utter kid-friendly ste. Wasn't keen on Spiderman 3 or X-Men 3 either, although I thoroughly enjoyed the earlier instalments.

I am not going to comment on the older superhero movies such as Superman and the like.

The whole lot of the Batman movies I believe are the best and truest, with the exception of the George Clooney batman and Val Kilmer. I preferred Batman Begins over the Dark Knight, though both were excellent IMO.

Hulk, I thought both movies were okay at best, the second with ed norton being the better of the two IMO.

Xmen movies were weak. Such hollywood bull st, really ruined it for me tbh. Oh I waited since I was a kid to see them live, and them BLAM, garbage. Although I have a feeling that the Wolverine movie will be more on the true side, see darker. (if I had to choose an Xmen movie, it would be the last one, so much better than the others I think)

Spiderman was okay, if your 13 or younger, otherwise I didnt like it. It felt too polished, like Xmen.

Hellboy was an entertaining movie, but not in the same way as Batman and so on.

Sin City really inspired me and for me it goes down as one of the best.

The latest Superman movie I enjoyed. But I was never a big fan of Superman, so.

Daredevil can go in the same trash can as the George Clooney batman movie.

I have yet to see Iron Man and Watchmen, but I am going to see Watchmen soon. I am really intrigued by it!

For me, it would list as follows at the top:

Batman Begins and TMNT 1
Sin City
The Dark Knight

The others dont even make my list or DVD collection.

P.S. I dont know if TMNT are considered superheroes in the traditional DC/Marvel sense, but if we agree that they are to be counted, then add TMNT 1 to the VERY top of the list. When I saw the movie as a child it was such a beacon of hope, they were real to me!

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were an excellent pair IMO. Liked X-Men 1, really liked X-Men 2 but the third went off the boil a little bit. Sin City was also top class but I've never liked the Spiderman series, the actor who plays Peter Parker is a complete wiener, even I would've managed to bone Kirsten Dunst by now.

LOL Kirsten Dunst the majority of times looks like shes a stoner stuck forever. Strange girl, indeed. See, butter face I bet without makeup.

But, the worse I think is the girl who played in The Dark Knight, OH MY GOD! I was appalled and concerned as to how they could have such a butter face in a movie like that! TBH, it actually distracted me through out the movie to the point where I was finding it hard to follow the plot LOL

Best for me would be Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Ironman and the first Matrix film (I'd class Neo as a superhero).

Worst are Daredevil, truely awful and Catwoman with Halle Berry.

Excellent movie!! I can still remember the first time I saw the preview on TV. It was a Saturday morning and I was watching the cartoon, it was in between the commcercials! I'll never forget the feeling it gave me to see them alive. it was amazing, and nothing has ever come close frown Ahh the wonderful feeling of imagination without the redundancy and bitterness of the adult world frown

Superman has got to be the best, just for the score. Hancock was dire as was Superman three

The Dark Night is probably one of the best I've seen, dare I say it better than the Michael Keaton ones? As far as worst goes, Fantatsic 4 was pretty cack, though I'm sure there's been one worse

The new Batmans are both very good.

Thought the first Hulk missed the spot - the 2nd, while better, still not top notch.

Iron Man - Loved it.

Spiderman - enjoyed the first, 2nd - meh, 3rd - WTF? One of the few films I have walked out of.

Orginal Superman was great and the rest so so.

So, looks likes it's out of the Batmans... Dark Knight has to take it for me. Having watched it a few more times on DVD (BluRay makes the experience better than the cinema IMO) it is a brilliant film with some notable acting.

Oh, I forgot to add V For Vendetta to the top of the list as well. Again, if hes considered a superhero.

I think we can broaden the topic to include other types of comic, and possibly manga/anime/games as the original format for a film, as so few of them are done well. Come to think of it, has there ever been a live action version of an anime that was anywhere near as good as the original?

300 was good, no plot but it didn't really need one. A very good piece of cinema.
