The other half always books off 2 weeks in August for her holidays. This year it turns out my boss has just booked 3 weeks off in August so we have to re-arrange. So I told her bring it to May/June so we can save a fortune on our holidays not going in peak time.

So far so good, means we can avoid extra expense caused by those inconsiderate enough to have kids block booking everything, so I was looking forwards to a a cheaper break away.

No.

Instead of booking her time off to end on a weekend she has booked it to return to work on a Thursday. Thus rendering booking a villa a bit pointless as we'll pay for 4 days we dont need. And the icing on the cake, she booked it to start on the MAy bank holiday.

Its a shame I cant actually give her a good bloody back hand for this.

You are quite wrong. You can give her a good back hander for this insubordination. They really appreciate a firm hand, actually they appreciate anything firm. Don't be a WOOS, take control.

PS: BTW I am divorced.

Actually she may have accidentally done a good thing. Flights are cheaper midweek, and you can book some villas midweek to midweek at that time of year.

We're over night ferry to south france which is about 40000 times more expensive over a bank holiday

All villas in region appear booked for the first week

Can only book villas for a full week and what mongwit goes back to work on a Thursday?

+1

On the 'Holiday Lettings' part of Right Move there's loads of places where you can start and finish on the days you choose, and as s2art says - cheaper flights!

Cant argue with your last point. But I have booked villas in the Algarve for a week starting midweek.

It's only March, can't she just get it changed? I know trying to reason with women is generally a waste of time but may be worth a shot?
