Just for giggles, say we could send back one harrier jump jet, and all the provisions needed to fly 3 missions a day to the first world war. How much of advantage would it be, and how long do you think it would have taken off the duration of the war?

All the provisions? Fuel, spares, engineers, engineering equipment, weapons, everything? That one whole lot of provisions. If you can take that lot back in time then why a Harrier?

Its a bit silly because the Harrier can wield nuclear weapons. So one mission.

This is deja vu all over again. I'm sure that a similar thread has been posted before.

Spooky.

More interesting might be (say) the RN from 1943 back to 1915. Anything from the modern era and its nukes, which is pretty boring.

I see your point s2, but i was thinking hypothetically, that if it was possible to do so? would we have a moral obligation to save lives of our servicemen. Obviously it would not affect ourselves(hopefully) but we could stop a hell of a lot of people suffering.

Then why not go back a little further and assassinate Kaiser Bill?

There's a crap film with Kirk Douglas in and the Nimitz(sp)get sent back to the 2nd world war. It was a terrible film.

There was a filum where a 80's Carrier stocked with US Marine Tomcats went through a nasty/fked up worm hole storm and ended up back in the Pacific Theatre when the Japs had the ascendency and they mullered them.

Have a feeling that Christopher Reeve was invloved - will do some more research as my memory often fails me.

Well what ever the out come the yanks will re-write history and say it was a F16 or some other plane and that we did not exist at the time.

Or that we just simply went and had tea and scones and they saved the world again.
