Where is the best place to get Perspex sheet from? I am probably looking for a piece that is around 4-5mm thick and about 1000x500 mm in size.

I have looked at some online shops and the prices seem reasonable but they all want around £15 to £17 for delivery which seems excessive.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Then you don't want perspex, you want polycarbonate (eg. 'Lexan'). Perspex shatters in a potentially dangerous way, so if you roll the car you might come round with an 8" shard of the stuff embedded in your chest.

Look for 'plastics suppliers' in the yellow pages, or contact a specialist like Airedale Race Plastics.
