Or maybe he just doesn't like the steaming turd we call PM, because lets face it that's fairly understandable.

Interesting but doesn't quite hit the nail on the head - behind all the rhetoric, behind the fact that he's the first black president is all the same old trendy claptrap spewed forth by lefty liberals that means to turn history on its head, right perceived wrongs and squander the positive legacy of yesterday in the futile hope that it will cure so many of the ills of today. Same ste as Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Others though are hinting that Obama is out of his depth and this is bad news for everyone.

Have you read some of the comments?

We are all "US Haters"
and we should give up the Falklands and Gib cos we're "bankrupt".

Hello? Hello? Shall I mention "national debt"...?

I think it is more true to say Obama is indifferent.

Britain remains the US most important ally, in fact the only ally that seems willing to commit significant numbers of soldiers to Various American led wars. However Obama seems far more disinterested in foreign affairs than Bush.

Brown needs friends. But when you're President of the world's most powerful country, friends are optional.

Have to agree with a sinking feeling Obama is a lemmon.
His record of acheivement as a senator was average and expectation on him is huge. His team around him has talent but then he lost some number one choices and his handling of the next banking package so far has been poor.

You can see how he might want to distance himself from Brown, but why hand back the bust of Churchill to the British Embassy, seems like a bit of an insult IMO, considering the relationship Churchill had forged with America.

I'd like to think Obama was elected for more than "because he's black". I mean, Mugabe's black... Some how, I suspect I will be disappointed.

Would you want to align yourself with a country that has knockings of bankruptcy and a leadership edging towards Totalitarianism?

Indeed, America has a history of looking after number one first and sitting on the fence when it suits. As has been said, with problems like they have right now, you'd be a bit of a fool to not concentrate on the home fires first and foremost.

I was amazed with the blind faith of so many people in Obama during the election despite the complete noncommittal in so many aspects of his policies. I think a lot of people voted for the black guy to make a symbolic statement. It is certainly a milestone. The trouble is who in their right mind would have voted for McCain with Palin as Vice-President? I think the election was over when that decision was announced and she started to get airtime. Yikes!

As many people have said already, he appears to be America's Blair. I for one will be interested to see what shape America is in after his first term is over.

While I think the DVDs were funny it's actually quite an insult to the British people to return the bust. It may not have been a good idea to treat the leader of your only real ally like this either.

He is however a Kenyan so probably blames us for all African problems and the slave trade.
