Driving back from the Alps through a largely-deserted France on Sunday evening, I started to wonder what's not to like about an uncrowded European country with good transport links and infrastructure, higher speed limits than the UK, decent food & wine, mountains, snow, ski lifts, and, obviously, that well-documented je ne sais quoi.

Whether you like French cars or not is obviously a matter of personal opinion.
BUT, at least they do actually make cars that are French. And the French people buy them.
Which is more than can be said for this country. Apart from a few very small volume specialist manufacturers all the rest are owned by the Yanks, Indians, Japanese etc

Much cheaper council tax - bins emptied at least weekly

Against:
Far too much socialism and red tape. Although they do it to protect jobs etc, not to be Big Brother...
