Chap came to my door last year and gave me the usual bumff about them being the cheapest for Gas and Electric(Scottish Gas),they said they would cap the Gas till the middle of this year, plus the tarrif they were putting me on would be cheaper still! So at a weak moment (he interrupted me having a cup of tea and arsing some Digestives with some Mormons at the door)i said yes.So first thing i noticed i had to increase my direct debit from what i was paying the last company??Mmm i thought, then a couple of months later i had to do it again.
This went on for months,my bill would come in and my direct debit was never catching up to what my bills were!I seemed to be playing catch up all the time and never catching up.Now,the final straw, just had a bill in for gas and electric that is exactly two times higher than any bill i've ever had from any company, ever!wtf??What in the hell is going on?

You are the consumer, they are huge mismanaged profiteering foreign owned conglomerates, therefore they abuse you.

Does that answer your question?

I managed to get rid of one of these door step pests a few years back. He asked me if I wanted to save money on my Gas and Electricity, and I said No. He then went on and on about how he could do me the very best deal available from any company.

I then asked him to prove his ability to get a good deal from anyone, by proving that he had managed to get a salary out of said energy company, rather than commission only. He didn't make a sale on my door step!

Yes, yes they do.

Npower tried to charge us x amount for y units equating to z per unit.

Only thing was none of these numbers added up. Were had used way less than their 'prediction' and been charged nearly 4 times as much per unit as they claimed we were.

Rang them up and I go a retarded retard on the other end of the phone who just said.

"I'll get a new bill sent out"

Which he did and it was totally different, with no numbers matching in anyway. But as it was cheaper I paid it.

I get them coming to my door again and again promising thier tariff is cheaper than what I'm on now..

"ooh NPower is THE most expensive sir"

a quick visit to uswitch.com proves otherwise...

I'm amazed they get away with lieing through thier teeth like they do..

Count yourself lucky; the house opposite us decided to change providers, so they changed us instead. That took some time to sort out!

Do they still use the sign here to say I've been trick?

They do seem to charge what the hell they like, not as bad as water though I had to pay them nearly twice as much as the house of 5 across the road when I was living on my own.

Another interesting thing has happened since i joined this company. My electric bill has always been approximately 30% more than my gas bill,no matter what company i've been with. This has now flipped around in the last 6 months to my gas bill now being exactly twice as much as my electric bill?.A first for me,im an extremely low gas user.
