Ikea in Amsterdam and Amsterdam Arena shopping centre were closed today after authorities received intelligence of a plan to explode devices to maximise civilian casualties.

7 people have been arrested, one of whom is related to one of the Madrid terrorists from the attack 5 years ago

To be fair I've been tempted to blow up a few Ikea's.

Not since that day in Croydon when the whole place went up in flames - fecking nightmare. I used to dread Sat mornings when my GF at the time used to say "shall we go to Ikea today" all I could hear when she said that was "here's a mangle - feed your nuts into it".

They were busy trying to put the furniture together. Obviously it got the better of them.

I think that was the look the terrorists were going for too!

If a bomb went off in the WestBrom Ikea you'd never know the difference... looks like village of the dammed most weekends anyway!

Seriously though - glad to hear someone was on the ball.

You should play the Ikea Pencil Challenge. A simple yet fun game where you gather as many pencils as you can get, and diposit them in the most random places around the store. I managed to get one into my dads wallet on a recent trip

False alarm. The wrongly-arrested have been released.
Sadly the Ikea was open for business again today bringing misery to the masses frown.
