Do you feel as self conscious as you would going to a bar by yourself?

Done it loads of times, not bothered at all and would suggest that those who are have some sort of problem.

Nope feel a lot more comfortable watching a film on my own than sitting in a pub.

Was prompted by a couple of other threads ('Taken' and 'Going to the pub alone') as the last film I saw was 'Taken' and I was alone ('not lonely'!) - made a promise to myself to go every Sunday night - never been back since!

The fact is not one person in the cinema cares that you are alone, it is solely your imagination that has created a constraint on your life solely of your views of society.

BTW, I will be going to see this movie alone at the cinema, a couple of hours of chilling out watching a topic I like and not being bothered by the wife or kids that wouldn't enjoy it and otherwise ruin the experience.

Cinema - a place where you don't talk and it's dark. How can that be a problem? Restaurants and pubs make me feel far more self-conscious.

I'd prefer to wait until it's out on DVD R1 and watch it without sweet wrapper noises etc in the background and then watch it again if I want to smile

I have a card for local Cineworld, twelve pound a month unlimited use, last Monday went to see The Unborn,at Midday, had the cinema to myself.I now resent having to go with my other half, much easier to concentrate when by yourself.

I'd more likely than not just get a DVD out and watch that instead.....

Don't go to the pictures too often these days - the soundtracks are far too loud as are too many of the audience.

Back in the days when I used to go a lot, I often went on my own and never thought twice about it. Why should it be a problem?

Anyway, has that nice Mr Chaplin released anything of note recently?

Yeah, but those piano accompanists could make a racket too - not to mention the Wurlitzer man.
