Any recommendations or experience with these brands?

They do seem to make a lot of good looking appliances these days and usually Japanese/Korean stuff is pretty bulletproof, and before anyone says Asko (pretty ugly btw) or Bosch i don't want to spend a fortune - besides many of those are made in China/Thailand these days.

Miele. All day, every day, don't even look at anything else.

The reason they're twice the price is that they at least last four times as long!

Last Miele we had lasted 16 months! LG we have had for the last 3 years and has been on twice a day ever since. You just cant tell!

You do realise Siemens is the expensive version of Bosch, right? You'll be able to get an equivalent Bosch, in terms of capacity and spin speed, minus a few fancy programmes that you'll never use, to each Siemens model, for a fair bit cheaper. They're made by the same company, and use a lot of the same components, there's no difference between quality/lifespan.

ETA. I thought you said Siemens. sorry. ignore

Didn't Miele's 5 year warranty cover it if it only lasted 16 months.

Wasn't offered at the time, and to be honest, with 3 kids I couldnt be arsed to hang around while all was sorted.

Have an LG and it's been fine. Build quality seems far and away better than previous Hotpoint although, to be fair, that did go for years and years with only a change of drum bearings ('orrible job).

I'm afraid it's the Krauts for me. Bosch, Siemens and AEG. Would use nothing else these days. Great quality. The washing machine door even "feels" better!!!
(When I was taking the hoses out from new, you understand.......) I'll get my coat!!!!

That's actually something that put me off the cheaper Bosch models - the doors felt cheaper and had plastic clips where they lock into the body, the Samsung ones were metal like the more expensive machines.

Yeah - thinking WTF is a washing machine. A chavs definition of a washing machine is their mum. Innit. Bruv...etc.

We have an LG, it's direct drive so very quiet and efficient. Best machine we've ever had, although not cheap...

Can't deny the Miele reputation but you pay for it.
