Bartender Told Me My License isn't Real!

Out for a pint at lunch, for whatever reason they decided to card me (6'4, 25, with a weeks worth of stubble - go figure). Shone the light (UV?) on the front but said because there was no hologram on the back it 'wasn't acceptable and I should call the DVLA' practically accusing me of having a fake. After I kicked off a bit he said my long-expired US license was fine.

Anyone else experienced this? Another symptom of the drinking backlash?

Is he saying your driving licence should have a hologram on the back ??

What sort of hologram ? Mines doesn't have any hologram either. I reckon he's talking nonsense!

i received a revised photocard when i altered my address....

it has a hologram of a steering wheel on it....

i'm assuming this is what the oik behind the bar was reffering to....

What is it with US bars now? I was in San Fran just before christmas and virtually every bar asked for ID.... I'm 35! my pal I was with is 41 and we do not look 'under 21' no matter how you look at us!

I got asked for ID in a bar over here, so I showed the bouncer my US passport.

He immediately claimed it was fake. "They don't look like that, I've been to America you know."
