Mind you when will the first burglary/car theft be blamed on it as it is a great way to case a joint/check out the cars without blowing your bus fare.

Just showed a friend how to send a request to have his one removed, his garage is open and you can see everything inside Photos up this way are about 8 months old though so lots of cars have likely been changed. Makes a great tool for double glazing salesmen, roof cleaners etc.

If I drove round photographing people's houses I'd probabyl soon get arrested. What allows Google to get away with it?

Plus, it's now illegal to photograph policemen (on the grounds that one might be a terrorist of course) - so what happens when Google photographs one? EH? EH?

You know if the courts were ever to try to argue that law in court I can see Google being someone that could actually be found guilty. If you were planning terrorist activities what better tool is there?

Quite funny the way the civil liberties folks have jumped on this, and the anti's in general, claiming it is an invasion of privacy. I was reading in the paper today that some body or other is taking Google to court over it. But this is just public roads, how is it an invasion of privacy? If it is, then so is just walking the streets.

No you wouldn't. What is public is public. Policeman excepted of course.

I was once parked up ten minutes early for a call, some nosey neighbour came out and photographed me in my car whilst I was parked up waiting to go and do my call, and he really made it obvious what he was doing and why, like he was the head General of the neighbourhood watch. I didn't make a fuss as I has sussed what he was probably doing and why, but when he had finished, I got out and took a photo of his house. The guy went totally ape st and couldn't see any irony in his response to my mischievousness!
