Hello everyone.

I am retiring from working in Europe's largest auto museum here in Germany soon and we are moving to the Dordogne area of France in the coming year.

I want to find an area with active car enthusiasts and all that goes with it. I will be bringing my noisy 1917 Indianapolis Racer with me, especially to make new friends and annoy neighbours!

Has anyone any hints, suggestions, etc?

Kind regards,
Pat Feeney.

There is a group, Les Chevaliers De L’arbe a Cames who meet on the first Sunday of each month around Bergerac. They have a wide range of attendees and were very friendly when I attended a couple of years ago when visiting relatives.
They have a page on Facebook.

Hi Pat - there is a surprising amount of car clubs over here (I live in the north Dordogne area) with a lot of activity in the summer. I’m in my local club of Retromobile Perigordvert which is 90% French (👍) and has a nice mix of ‘normal’ cars - nothing too exotic, but lots of nice year round drives out usually involving a meal/drink (!) etc
Angouleme has its own annual event Circuit des Remparts which no doubt has clubs involved…

I suspect if you find where you want to LIVE, you will find clubs near or within a short drive…and when you are here, get in touch I’d love to see the car!

Many thanks for your replies, it's a good start!

Unfortunately, I can't post pictures yet, maybe I need to post more before I can,

Pat.
