The manual ( 1972 remember so a little out of date) says to use 95 Unleaded. I'm anxious to use a 95 UL with as little added ethanol as possible, and the car does not need higher octane petrol as the engine was day one designed for 95 UL. Any advice what to use please. Is the price of petrol controlled in Germany and are there any cheap places to buy like in France at the Supermarkets?

Use the 95 Octane with 5% (the 10% is marked). Prices in Germany are controlled by the oil companies and can change up to 5 times a day. For the cheapest use a site like www.clever-tanken.de and type in the postcode where you are, the range to the pump to which you're willing to drive, and the type of petrol.... that'll give you the cheapest and nearest..................
