I live in Frankfurt,
what are you interested in (yeah, cars & computers, anything else) ?
Offenbach is not exactly the entertainment centre of the rhein-main area,
but Frankfurt is very close by, are you on public transport, car or taxi ?
Now that this pic has been posted, I am almost afraid to tell you that
Offenbach has a very interesting leather museum.................biggrin
There even is a horse harness on display, made of a human skin,
with the hands´ skin being the part that the rider holds in his hands....yikes
(It was not done in the 3rd reich, but in india/afghanistan,
during the colonial wars IIRC.)
You may post the reply in the "germany" forum,
as you have seen, we are not so chatty,
and here it gets sunk pretty quick ?
Have a good trip,
Benni
Hey Benni, just been out for a walk around the Achat Plaza... You're not half right, not much about smile

Currently getting around by taxi, public transport is a bit complicated in Englad, let alone a foreign country where I know none of the language! hehe I would love to check out Frankfurt. Took 35 Euros to get here from Frankfurt airport, is it likely to cost that much to get back to Frankfurt nightlife? (and then back to the hotel again wink)

Not sure I like the sound of a leather museum! I think I just met up with that gang of dudes in the elevator hehe

Wooooohoooooooo another member in the Germany section biggrin this place can be quiet for long periods at a time...

I'm living in Aachen in Westfalia and can normally be found having fun on the local autobahn's in my 2006 CV8Z Monaro, take Saturday night for example I was driving calmly back from Kent where the car had just been for it's 20k service when I heard the familiar sound of a tuned porker coming up quickly, turned out to be a bright orange GT3RS adorning a Belgian plate, so of course I had to drop from 6th to 4th and give the big Aussie yoke a big helping of right foot and in no time the pair of us were doing around 240-250kmph, and then went our seperate ways shortly after as I headed for Dusseldorf and the orangina mobile went towards Koln...great fun almost every time I take the big wagon out for a spin these days biggrin

Anyway, I'm rambling, welcome to Germany, you staying long?

I moved out here to Aachen in May this year with my job, which has seen me in Scotland (home), Wales, California, Minnesota, Northern Ireland over the 16 years I've been doing it wink

Hi Cronk !
Better late than never, hopefully :
http://www.inyourpocket.com/city/frankfurt.html
There is also an "Offenbach" section (top left of page,
and read about the leather museum, it´s got a lot to see.)
I would estimate about 20 € Taxi cost to Frankfurt,
the reception guys should be able to tell you the exact price.
Today, the Christmas market opened near the "Römer", the city hall,
and this market atracted 3m people last year.
Lots of xmas Xmas tat, but also some nice handicrafts,
and beware of the hot "glow wine" or other alcoholic perversities.....nuts
If you are brave, try the "Apfelwein" (apple wine), our version of cider,
or have an "ice beer" (20%yikes) in a pub between the Römer and the Main river.
Beware of some tourist traps in the "Old-Sachsenhausen" Pub/Bar area,
and stay out of the "Bahnhofsviertel",
red light district around the main railway station (unless very in need for XXX).
Cheers, and a good stay from
Benni

€dit : PH mail with contact data sent, hope it works, if needed.

I just took a (rather long) walk down to a shopping centre. Was pretty nice, spent a deal on new clothes! biggrin I think I quite like it here.

Cheers!

ha ha, it would all depend on his view of shelling out for un-needed niknak's I suppose...personally I stay clear but I have the old dear paying her first visit to Germany next weekend so I have to take her into Aachen and Koln on Sat/Sun to see what tat she can buy for other people's crimbo prezzies back home in Scotland biggrin

At least I've the Essen Motorshow to go to this Saturday, I get a normal weekend before the babysitting biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
