Dear fellow TVR drivers and enthusiasts,


Due to an omission of Hotel van der Valk (our stay for this years Continental Meeting) we were not informed about the skipping of the planned room rate increase. Therefore the prices as mentioned in our registration form were higher than necessary. This mistake has been rectified by now and the correct prices are now mentioned in the form on our website.

Everyone who has paid already has had a message from us and will receive some of his/her money back at the TVR registration desk in the hotel.

The right hotel prices are:

€ 118,= for a double/twin room, including breakfast and city tax

€ 99,= for a single room, including breakfast and city tax

We hope you can inform your English club members about this room rate decrease.

Any one who wants to book a hotel room directly with the hotel, can do so, but pays the same price as we charge.

There are websites (hotel booking sites) where you can book also directly with the hotel, but please pay attention to the fact, that the prices these sites charge are always without breakfast and city tax!

Than there is the matter of bank transfers from Pounds to Euros. We thank the UK TVR Car Club for their assistance in the past and would like to emphasize that we fully understand their decision to advise anyone to pay directly to us.

We are working on a solution, but until then we advise all our subscribers from the UK to pay cash on arrival in Heerlen at the hospitality desk. The money needed for a bank transfer can be better used!!!

I am not clear as to what money is being paid on the day. If this is for the hotel booking then how will a room be held for someone if they have paid no deposit or left a credit card as a guarantee?

I am about to send a mail to .NL but before I do, just wanted to know if the method of booking was to be posted here? If no money changes hands, how will the hotel know to reserve a room unless you book direct? Do we pay for the track day on the evening before and just send an email to say you want a place on the day?

Stuart, best thing is to book the hotel directly and pay cash to TVRCCNL on the day.

Or you could try the second best thing.......

Dutch Club will book your room for you and you can pay with credit card when you arrive. You can pay cash for the Events on arrival on Thirsty Thursday cash €uros. See my confirmation below

As already confirmed yesterday by telephone, I confirm again, just to be sure:

I booked you a hotel room for three nights (Thursday evening, Friday evening, Saturday evening). You can pay the hotel by credit card on arrival.

And you pay cash for the track, dinner and treasure hunt on arrival in Heerlen.

I have filled in the form online and want a room for only Thursday and Friday + track day etc etc. I have sent a email to ask how I pay but from reading these comments do I just take it that a room is booked for us and we pay for it on arrival and we pay for the track etc when we get here?

I am more than hapy to pay now, I just don't want to get there and not have a room. The form says "We must receive the total amount before May 30th 2009 to ensure participation"

Look forward to what I need to do.
