Ok - anyone know if there are any often found probs with a 64 900 2.3L , cant get washers to work , hear the pump , but no sign of water being pumped up pipe , checked at bonnet . Is access from under the wheelarch?

many thanks

Assume you mean 94

One thing that seems to fail a lot is the T-piece valve - worth getting a replacement and fitting, might sort it.

Otherwise, don't know my way round the NG900 engine bay very well so will bow out here

Not totally sure...

Have a look in Haynes, or I'm sure one of the Saab people on here or somewhere like uksaabs.co.uk will be able to help

The T pieces are very cheap.

I have Haynes for the 94-98 900 at home. I'll have a look for you later on tonight, when I get in

And being the useless I am, I completely forgot to look for you! My humblest apologies

However, I have the manual here and have found it to be completely useless anyway! It's one of those articles that appears as if they felt as if they had to include it, but really wanted to get down the pub for a few beers, so spent all of five minutes documenting it...

From what information I have, it seems the reservoir and pump are both located beneath the front left-hand wing, and to access them you need to remove the wheel arch liner and the front bumper. There is no mention made of any t-pieces or non-return valves though, which I imagine must exist somewhere; perhaps in the same place?

Sorry I can't be more help...

D'OH!

Just remembered I have the Saab Electronic Parts Catalogue installed with diagrams / lists of all the parts and part numbers.

have a look at these diagrams and see if they help :

Might be one of those many joints?

If you need to know the key (part number/description) let me know and I will look it up

Do you get water coming out anywhere? rear washwipe? headlamp washwipe? might help to work out where it's leaking....

Some of the parts to clear things up :

11 bushing
14 nozzle
18 valve
19 connector
20 bushing
21/21a tubes

27 hose
28 hose
29 hose
30 hose
32 hose

37 rubber hose

It's quite difficult to see what's happening near the pump, but my guess (if no water is coming out anyhere is that a pipe is split near the washer pump. Does the pump sound "under load" or as if the reservoir is empty? Does the fluid pee out under the car?
