Hi all,

Following on from this thread:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=160284

Does anyone know how (if at all possible) to move an Auto 9000 without the keys?

Cheers

Matt

The 9000 is the only modern Saab that you didn't have to leave in reverse to get the keys out of the ignition, so it probably will still be in neutral. Which is a start. Saab handbrakes also seem to be very poor, so you might be lucky with a hefty shove.

But what if its an auto (as in this case) does that not lock up the axle or something when left in Park?

If it's in park the gearbox will be locked - you won't move it unless you get one of the front wheels off the ground.

Same as any other autobox.

Bu&&er was hoping you were not going to say that, its on a hill so lifting the wheels could be tricky!

Someone on the other thread mentioned that you might be able to unlock the gearbox with a special tool through a hole on the lever cover?

Don't know - sounds like you need to sneak a look at a Haynes manual in Halfords...

Is it still there Matt?

Whereabouts is it? Even if it is a non-runner there must be loads of bits worth having!

Is there anything to stop peopel coming round and dismantling it before it gets towed!?

Its gone now. Bloke finally came and moved it after he had a letter from the council. He was not very happy and was even more pi$$ed off after I'd had a few words!!

Serves the pratt right, they shouldn't let halfwits like that own Saabs! What did he expect?

Lucky somebody didn't "borrow" his leather interior
