Non TVR owner here, but a long-time fan.

I was very pleased that the driver of a silver blue cerbera (unsure which variant) reacted to my playfulness (driving M135i) and showed me what a proper car can do on a slip road (A40/M40 @ Denham/Uxbridge) at full chat. I was surprised it was as close as it was but he was clearly having way more fun and drama. What. A. Noise. cloud9

Desperate to own one at some point

OP, I'd highly recommend taking Gruffalo up on that offer, he took me round Snetterton during a track day last year, his Cerb is mighty quick smile

I think that was me.

I was heading down from Gerrards Cross to jump on the M40 at Denham in my silver 4.2.

I think we were together at the traffic lights by the petrol station?

If so it wasn't full chat, just accelerating in 3rd or 4th (the car was just coming up to temp). I'm in Beaconsfield if you ever want to go for a spin .... smile

I could be wrong, but I am sure the OP wanted to post this to tell us just how fast his super hatch is - against a 15 year old Cerb which, as it turns out, wasn't even on full chat and just warming up.

Could be wrong, though...smile

laugh I think most of us were thinking that. When driving such as a TVR, you usually discriminate to what/whom you will stoop to conquer.

Of course, just for anyone reading - all the speeds were legal and everyone involved was driving
in a safe and responsible manner...

hehe

Better than me a few minutes ago - am running in my new 4.3 S6, and stalled it changing down to 2nd on a hill, with loads of cars behind me - how embarrassing!

I know that the 4.2 Cerb is a monster, especially in-gear acceleration when on full song.

You are indeed wrong. I am well aware that my car isn't anything special in comparison.

I'm also pleased that the Cerb is much quicker and that he wasn't trying, because that would've been a dream shattered.

And thank you for not being too mean smile

I've never been in a TVR whilst on the move so would certainly like to do so at some point.

Just to add something to make the OP feel slightly better...
My brother has a M135i and it is a bloody quick car. Not Cerb quick (because we had a little play on our private test track) but would leave most things for dust.

I wasn't trying to be an arse., its nice to be noticed by people who appreciate these cars. It was a genuine offer if you ever want to go for a spin.....

Hey mate, we should definitely catchup now the weather is getting better. Is your Cerb back yet? You need to update your username wink

Yeah, had her back a couple of weeks now. Maybe we should get the whatsapp going towards the ned of the month. Clocks will be going forward on the 29th so a bit more daylight. As for the user name - i'll need to give that a bit of thought.
