Not much of an expert myself but will try to explain
By "high res" I mean high resolution...the number of pixels in the image. The resolution of the pic I posted above is 800 x 563, the original high resolution version is 2272 x 1704. The high res version is obviously a lot sharper and more detailed whereas when an image is resized (like above) you lose the quality/sharpness of the image. The camera I was using is just a very ordinary digital camera, on a decent camera the image resolution can be much higher. The file size of the image above is 83kb whereas the high res version is 1600kb! I hope that made sense.
