thats interesting. i went to Clacton for the day last summer and i hated it!
was expecting to spot a few tivs out and about too but there was not come through the whole day.
was a memorable day out for other reasons though as there was this mad old gent who came into a cafe by the sea front who was known to the locals as "shty arse Al!" poor sod! all he wanted was a cup of tea! we later saw him again curled up asleep on a bench outside an old folks home.
won't be going back there in a hurry!
