Afternoon people, while the drago...drag queen what ever his name maybe, is busy getting off on us posting pics of our good selves i have a serious question..

Numberplates (never get on with it were all bored already...)ive been takeing a look at fancyplates.com, they have a desinger plate thingy. They have a lotus slogan and border i was looking it i thought the lotus logos with the green border keeping the lotus colour scheme running...what you think?? to saxo crew for the elise?????

Also what size "small" number plate fits on the front, im paranoid min is going to be left behind one day!!...

IMHO keep it simple - the car itself is a classic, no need for splashing Lotus all over it... save your money for other stuff mate.

Slightly off topic, but I'm considering getting a new plate for mine (i.e. registration)... but don't want to tell you all what it is in case you like it and nick it before I get a chance to buy!! Should I tell you what it is? Can I trust you? Who's got a private plate, what have you got and why?

Yeh me to considering the private look...found one very similar to my name here which is a nickname from a work mate!....my elise when i had hpi check done had a "111" something on it, i think i nice lotus one will set you back though!...

As for the plate i do agree simple is best, it was just a thought...but the small front plate is a kickin idea!...do you or any phers know the size that would fit the elise!

The three-quarter size plate fits fine on the front - I bought one from Fancy Plates recently. The size is 390mm x 84mm.

Just a small word of warning guys. I had my Elise MOTed today (it passed) and it's fitted with a plain (i.e. just standard character) 3/4 size front plate. The MOT tester wasn't too happy and said that there may be clampdown on plates starting shortly. You and I know that a human can read 3/4 plates with no difficulty whatsoever, but machines can't.

There are lots of Elises running round with small plates or none at all. We'll see how long that continues to be the case.

I like the fact that the front plate sits below the front bumper, its a warning before you take the bumper off surely??

yep, very handy, my plate saved damage to the front clam on a number of occasions before finally falling off 4 months ago - wasn't even a speedbump but a garage forecourt and heavily cambered road.

cheers

I have 2.

P2 DPM (my initials) which is currently on retention and being sold (very slowly)

and G1 DPM

Would have liked 1DM but sadly thought of other uses for £85K

Yep garage forecourts are the worst. I just ripped the front bolts out of my plate today because of a miss judged splash n dash!!
