Ok its not Stelvio (Pass) but its a nice opportuntiy for a blat in between the bank holiday convoys!

Am off to Homelands with the g/f tomorrow and she has opted for the hair in your face thrillseekers ride to Winchester instead of British Rail...halleluyah there is a god!

So, we are into that period of the year of long summers days cruising in the countryside speeding along (private) lanes and i was wondering if anyone had any good route suggestions between Enfield, North London and Winchester (on the way to Southampton). Anything to avoid the Motorways would be appreciated!

Cheers in advance guys n gals.

Well yeah, Stelvio has it's plus points - but you don't get hundreds of DJ's and an army of clubbers waiting for you at the end of the pass! For one weekend only, I vote Winchester!

fleets, I must be showing my age (er 28), but I'd take Stelvio any time over an army of clubbers and DJs!

If I'd seen this last week then I would've suggested M25, M3, off at J4 or 5, across to the A3, round the only roundabout on the road then onto the A272 (the best road in the area) to Winchester.

But I didn't because I was on holiday Sorry!!

Hi guys....end result was bust!

90 minutes into the journey (and still not far from home) I hit the wrong pedal in slow moving traffic, my isnt the elise quick 0-10 mph! Yes I am offically a bank holiday numpty driver!!!!!

Next thing I new we were under the rear end of a rather bulky Vauxhall Omega aaaaargh! End result is a new front end! Car still got us to Homelands and Faithless live helped me forget the journey! Got to be honest though at 26 I have just proved I can no longer keep up!

Anyway thats a set of driving pics I wont be posting, its not pretty!

P.S Cheers cuzza, turns out thats pretty much the route we took, there should be some souvenir bits of fibreglass along the way!!!!
