Ok, so i'm thinking of getting an S2 Exige, but looking at the price list information I have a few questions that some of you may be able to help with....

- Lotus want to charge £599 for the sports exhaust as oppossed to £499 for K series - anyone know of any other suppliers out there with better noise / cheaper price / better built product - or is it way too early?

- Same question on ITG induction system on K series, but no options on the Toyota version as yet - again is it too early or are there options out there?

- Amourfend appears as a dealer option for £499, are there better / cheaper suppliers out there - it's not that i don't trust my local dealer, but just figure that a specialist may do a better / cheaper job.

All responses and thoughts gratefully received.

Bell & colvill do an exhaust - dunno the price - try www.bell-colvill.co.uk

dont think any induction kits are out yet

£499 is what it would cost for the proper stuff at a bodyshop - its very labour intensive to apply - well worth having IMHO...problem is youve really got to have it applied from new - no good waiting a few weeks etc

Which dealer out of interest?

That sports exhaust price looks higher than necessary, so I doubt I'd spec it. B&C have it cheaper on the web I think. Fitting should only be about 1 hours labour (40 quid+vat at some places).

No induction available yet.

499 for armorfend sounds pretty good. It cost over a grand on my car (first S2 to be done so they probably charged the original owner for making their own patterns up!). Check its proper armorfend and not a cheap rip off that will probably go yellow in the sun. Its bloody hard to fit well and I know a chap who has an alternative brand thats now lifting etc. My stuff has been fine for 3 years now.

So what colour paint are you going for? I came really close to buying an S2 Exige but I've decided to hold off and see if a supercharged one comes out. If not I'll buy a normal one second hand and not take the initial hit.

Local dealer is Wilson's, i've been reasonably impressed with them in the past when they did a cam-belt service on my Esprit v8GT. So it's not that i don't trust them, but figured they'll charge top dollar to fit amourfend, and would rather go to a specialist place where that's what they do all day - given i know how hard it is to fit well.

Colour - probably black or aubergine - like the idea of Chrome Orange (my Esprit was Mustard), but the Mrs. isn't keen!

So, do we really think there's a supercharged version coming? I guess they have to do something given the new VXR 220bhp VX220??

I think theres a decent chance of an SC one yeah.

Wilsons is where I did my S2 Exige test drive (we've had a depost with them for over 6 months - well we did). Nice enough, but gave me a shit trade in offer.

Don't think I'd buy an Exige in a dark colour, really doesn't suit it imho. The Mrs' will come round too. Mine certainly has. I was probably going to go for chrome orange, but yellow looks very good too and is 1035 quid less...

Wilsons quoted me the same for armorfend. I think thats a very reasonable price to be honest. Especially if its real armorfend. Having said that they don't put as much on as went onto my S2.
