Are the air vents on the rear arches of an Elise fake?

Can't find a quick answer on a search - can anyone tell me if the air intake behind the door on a S2 Elise is just there for cosmetic purposes and doesn't actually feed anything?

Theyre real - or at least the one on the passenger side definitely is as this is where my trd gets its air from

The little ones either side of the rear lights on the S2 are fake. Maybe that's what you were thinking of?

Both sides are real. They assist in the cooling and breathing of the car.
