Clipped from the "Homelands or Bust" thread as I didn't want to hijack....this is worth it! Just watched some of the vids - awesome. Wish I had the time/money to do it.
Is that you driving Tony?
"Old hands do it harder" Love it

Fraid so!
That was our 5th time up the pass in 6 years and we had been on the road for over 3000 miles by the time we were got to the pass (mostly the Alps, Corsica, Sardinia, Umbria & Tuscany) so had sort of got our eye in by then
Most of the first group we elbowed our way through had been with us for the last 12 days so we sort of trusted eachother and in their words they were glad when we turned up and broke up the log jam. They had been stuck behind the silver car for ages but as our car is pretty well known when we charged up on him with lights ablaze he just pulled over and let everyone by. The rest of the folk we passed had only been away from the UK for a couple of days and were taking it at what they thought was a pretty quick pace so were just not looking behind - hence the need for the use of lights and horn on occasions.
There is a new video on the web page now of our favourite road (Gorges de la Bachelard) its pretty huge but worth a look - especially when I'm shouting to Jane "Where the f#ck does the road go?"
