OK just got back from a 2 week holiday to find my battery is dead. Got a jump start from a garage fine but the bloke who did it reckons that it will now need replacing....

Apparantly because of the type of battery it is once it's completly discharged you've had it....

Does anyone know if this is true and if so rplacement costs...looking at where it is it doesn't look that easy to replace (like my liver which I think I just killed by drinking FAR too much on holiday )

Mine has gone flat a couple of times - just jump-started it and took it for an hour and a bit drive to charge it up each time, now its fine!

Worth trying it first before you spend! Keep some jump leads in the back though, just in case...

Yeah, or you can buy jump boxes yourself now from Halfwits for not much. Most are small and are dead handy.

ten quid says its fine tomorrow morning if you've just done 50 miles in it. I replced my original battery in my S2 after about 2 years.....and it had gone dead about 20 times during that - ended up getting a jump pack which is great peace-of-mind when stuck in the boot.

I replaced my battery with a much more powerful version (500 Amp crank instead of 350) and its massively better and seems to survive for much longer if the 'lise aint moved. It was also a mere 35 quid.....
