Drove up to the Birmingham Motor Show on Sunday in my S1 - a 150 mile journey each way. Whilst there I had a sit in the new Exige and Elise, and was surprised at how comfortable the seats were in them. They actually had padding!
Does anyone know if the S2 Elise seats would fit into an S1 wihtout modification? Just thinking about protecting my poor rump on long journeys!

PS Whilst I was there I got a drive in the 'Gibbs Aquada' amphibious car on the lake. Put a smile on my face as big as the grin you get in the Elise!

Thanks Arno

(by the way this may seem a bit sad but I managed 50.5 Miles per gallon to B'ham and back. And I wasn't hanging around!)

I did close to 2000 miles in 4 days in my S1 the weekend before last(from East Midlands to tour the Scottish Highlands & Skye, and back). Fitting S2 seats has suddenly bebome very appealing...

On this theme, how much do you think a single S1 seat is worth? (reasonable condition, black leather)

Standard S1 seat? Not a lot, I wouldn't have thought - can't imagine why anyone would want one. They are bloody uncomfortable, they don't fit anything else, and they don't wear out or break (apart from the wear pad on the shoulder, which is cheaply replaced anyway).

I would have thought that anyone needing a seat would upgrade to something better than the standard item.

I ask because I'm looking for a new chair for sitting at the PC - knock up a base and job done! Are they that uncomfortable?

Don't know what the S1 seat would be like for PC use, but in its intended use, you'll end up with a numb bum on any trip over about 150 miles

Well, anything would be better than the Ikea chair I use now. The screen is low down, on a TV trolley, not desk height. 150 miles worth of PH? I think I'll be OK

Never seem to spend more than half an hour sitting at the screen anyway.

I have been thinking the same thing after a visit to the Motor Show - the difference between the S1 and S2 is huge, comfort wise.

Need to find nice S2 seats...
