Don't think it's particularly critical where you get it from - they are not rocket science, just a straight tube with a flange either end.

You might as well get one in stainless steel, though, so that you can forget about the rust, and fit it using stainless nuts and bolts, so that swapping it back to the cat for the MOT once a year isn't too much of a bind.

Yeh I thought stainless steel, but I've seen lots of different prices. Any positive feed back on pipes purchased?

Also looking at replacing air filter with a free flowing type, without changing air box. Any suggestions?

Cheers!

A different filter will make cock all difference.

A free flow air filter such as a K&N or ITG or Huricane will give a small power increase but will produce a fantastic noise which makes them worth every penny!

If you do track days it might be worth considering a silenced replacement pipe. Mine is too loud for Bedford so I'm swapping it for a silenced version. Obviously the volume depends on a lot of things. I believe Sinclaires are doing stainless steel silenced pipes quite cheap.

Hi mate

Motobuild seem to be the cheapest for a stainless cat by-pass pipe. I got mine at the lotus show earlier this year - £30. If you give them a call they should only be about £35 plus delivery.

If you already have a sports exhaust this will make things oh so much better, but as stated above, if you fancy a track day it may be too loud.

I think I'll opt for the K&N filter and reroute the air in take to make it more direct.
Who are sinclaires?

Lotus Specialist in Essex. I'm told they are very good, but not tried them personally. Yet.
