I know some of you are using speed camera detectors so could you please advise on the following:

1 Which one seems to work best? (there are so many on the market!)

2 Are they easy to fit in the Elise?

3 Where are the best places to buy them?

I have never used one in the past but since I got my elise I am more aware of camera's than before.

Cheers

I use the Cylops - GPS as its very simple (like me) and only alerts when you are going too fast in to a camera. (a single beep until ramping up until it near jumps off the dash if you have not reduced speed)

It also has the SCP published sites or tempory sites on it (in my mind the real danger) but obviusley they cant cover all of the adhock ones.

For full protection I think you would need a laser jammer however the legality of these is dubious and penalties likley to be higher than the 3pt £60.

Yep the gps ones all look good to me. I'd avoid origin ones though as they've been mercenary beyond acceptability, and to several people I've spoken to. If your sub with them lapses, then you reactivate they back date the payment to when your previous sub lapsed, not when you reactivate. This, despite the fact that they won't let you update the devices database whilst your sub is inactive. Disgraceful behaviour and I've spoken to several others who've had the same fight with them.

If they lose a few customers through me letting their sharp practises be known, I'll rest easy!

Personally, I reckon the new micro roadpilot looks really good, but I haven't looked at reviews etc.
