Now I know this must have been done time and time again, but I have just run in my 135R and would like it to sound like it looks!! so I thought I would ask you bunch of very experienced guys your views on which is the best exhaust on the market at the moment, I will be retaining the cat as I have heard the S2 has a dash light that appears if the cat gets removed.

Details please- how much? Any change in bhp? Did you add aftermarket filters?

With all the recent posting I'm still drifting towards the Larini as it has v positive feedback fron those who have heard it, but my mind is still open. (Or vacant as some of my ?friends have said)

the 'best' may well be a £2000 Yoshimura titanium system, then maybe a £1000 Tubi style one from Scuderia systems...but this would be based on build quality and materials.

Sub £500 then I would go for:

Larini (looks nice, well built, not toooo loud but great sound)

B&C (same as above but dosent look so fancy)

Official Lotus (Magnex - I have one) same as B&C but pricey for what it is and Lotus only give a 12K mile 1 year warranty on a stainless exhaust rather than lifetime like everyone else

Janspeed - cheapest, very raspy, some would say tinny sound, build and warranty fine - cant go wrong for £350 fitted

You can get an MIL eliminator to stop the engine light coming on.

Is it a particular type of Larini? Any idea of what it would cost me to buy and get someone to fit? I have heard a number of people mention Lakeside engineering (if this is near the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex then this would be ideal for me)?

Larini is about £370 + £40 fittting approx - try www.sinclairebodyshop.co.uk - just off the A12/A127 roundabout at Gallows corner, NE of LOndon, inside M25

Lakeside are actually in Surrey ! - a little bit further away.....

as for the BK exhaust Ive never heard it - sorry

Thanks. Didn't realise that this place was there and I go past a couple of times a month! One final thing, do they supply the Larini or do you buy it elsewhere and they then fit it? Also is there a model name or if I ask for a Larini for an Elise will they (whever I buy from) know what I am after?

Thanks

they can supply and fit...although over on www.seloc.org someone is organising a group buy - £300 instead of £370 - on the tech BBS I think.

I use Sinclaires for everything (I live in Brentwood)- highly recommended...tell them bogie sent you, and join SELOC - they give an extra 10% discount on labour for SELOC members

Cheers, I will have a look at the Seloc site. I am over in Basildon at the minute but am moving to Brentwood in the coming weeks so knowing this place is just down the road is very useful

if you are moving to Brentwood then you are welcome to come to the Elise pub club on Thursdays - theres 4 of us who go down the Essex Arms (near the station) from 8pm onwards to talk cars all night

Also regular Essex lotus/SELOC meets in Ongar and Danbury

Yeah I had heard something about the Danbury meets. I will try to get down to the Essex Arms one Thursday (probably after the house move as all my time is filled with that at present). Am new to the world of Lotus so it would be good to meet some other owners.
