Hi all

I have just pulled my Elise out of hibernation this weekend, and I am like a kid on Christmas morning. :-)

Just wanted to share the love and get us to remember how lucky we are to own such awesome machinery! After months of humdrum, its life-asserting to once again drive a Lotus!

Go give yours a hug, she deserves it :-)

Not sure about hugged. Took mine out for the first time this year and while it was dry in Swindon it was a bit damp elsewhere so it's filthy now!

No but much better than that, 4 of us from ScottishElises just back from a 150 miles roof off run this morning south of Edinburgh. Route included driving through Britain's highest village Wanlockhead at 1531ft.

A blue sky sunny but cold day, great day for a run in a Lotus.

Wouldn't say hugged. It's been used almost daily through the winter and could probably do with a good clean.

Used it everyday. It's filthy!
Really needs to go in the 'Dirty Bums' thread or whatever it's called!

Had a lovely blat round some local roads. My 9 year old insisted on coming with me but in his full face crash helmet! Caused a few smiles at the local petrol station!!

Yesterday I had the roof off for the first time (hard top).
Not sure who was more excited; me or my 4-year-old in the passenger seat screaming "OVERTAKE HIM!" at anything in front of us.
Cold but wonderful.

I use it daily and have pretty much given up washing it. My hard work lasts about 1 mile on these roads before it looks like I just drove through a field.

Use mine throughout winter. Always thought that was the best thing to do. Keeps liquids and parts moving and battery charged. In addition keeps me happy which is why I bought it. My only preference is having the hard top on but thats another of those 'thorny issues' thats been well debated.

No hugging but it did get a quick run up to Blyton Park for a thrash about. Except for the battery light flashing under hard cornering it behaved itself very well. Despite the poisoning, deafness, spinal abuse and wallet raping I love my Lotus so much and miss it during winter.

I took my baby out this weekend for the first time since November before popping it back into storage while I'm away for the next month.

Was grinning for hours, although the wife nearly froze to death in the passenger seat!

I know they're expensive, hot and have the potentially troublesome VHPD, but a properly tidy S1 Exige is a truly beautiful thing bow

I've not quite had mine a year but in 5k miles and two trackdays it's never given me a moment's bother. It is hot and noisy and all my clothes stink of petrol and it wakes the neighbours up on a Sunday morning but there's something special about it.

Mine gets a pat every time I walk past it. I'm taking it onto Bedford Autodrome this weekend for our first trackday together- I'm currently counting the sleeps like a kid before Christmas...

Spent around 5h giving mine a bit of a clean up yesterday, great to get her waxed and shiney again after driving through winter, including snow, with the roof off as long as there's no rain. I don't have the option of tucking the car up in a garage so if she's going to stay outside I might as well use her driving

No hugs, but after nearly 3 years of ownership she still gets a second glance over the shoulder as I'm walking to the front door after parking up.

Chevronb37 Nice S1, was admiring it at Blyton park thumbup
I was in a Grey S2 Exige, nothing like a cold dry winter track day to blow the cobwebs off and get reacquainted with these fantastic cars.

Any photo's from the day gratefully received. smile

I was admiring your S2 in return - looks a really serious bit of kit.

A friend was taking photos with my camera. Sadly he was so transfixed by the task in hand he managed only one blurry shot of you on track. Hopeless! However, he did capture this charming image of you (I presume) hitching up your trousers biglaugh
