Hi Chaps

Well after much thought, I have purchased and fitted the new Hurricane. Fitting took just under an hour, and most of the time was lining up the housing of the filter so it didn't touch the rear clamshell. After a 20 minite sensible drive to warm the car up I took it for a blast along the coast and I have to say I'm well impressed. The induction roar is nice, not too loud as I expected, and it makes the sound of the new exhaust more complete. The power, well what can I say. During normal driving you won't really notice any difference, but plant your foot to the floor and the car jumps to life. throttle response is much improved and it feels more snappy and willing to rev, but the real gains are to be had from 3500 rpm + the engine seams to take a deep breath and just goes mental. So for just under £175 inc VAT + Delivery I say it is an excellent purchase.

Me too!! I had an ITG induction kit fitted yesterday and the results are amazing! The noise is wonderful and there is a definate faster turn of speed. The throttle response is much smoother.
Thoroughly recommended.

I considered the ITG but the cost was what put me off. I like the carbon airbox, it looks trick, but at about £350, you can go out and buy a set of cams for that much!

Anyway, i'm glad you have got the results you wanted from it. my next mod........ those piper cams and an emerald ECU look good.........mmmmmmmm cams!

Agree... had a hurricane fitted a few months ago with a sports exhaust (eliseparts),sounds great (although am getting a bit annoyed with the "Tizzy" sound from the exhaust - anyone had the bracket fitted to fix?).

Does anyone know about cleaning the Hurricane, I saw some kind of cleaning fluid on Ebay, is it easy or best just to let the Lotus guys to do it on the annual service?

I've got the Hurricane as well and it certainly makes the car sound one hell of a lot more like a sports car and less like a metro! Delighted with results -- I've also got the Janspeed exhaust. Next step for me come cam belt change next year will be some peakier cams...
