Elise Parts Polycarbonate Side Windows
Discussion
Hi Guys,
New to these forums, but have been reading this forum for the past few weeks and have gained loads of tips.
Had my 1999 135S for just over a year, great car, but I now have a problem with the passenger side window, you've guessed it, it's come away from the runner.
Taken the door panel off to discover a previous bodged job!
I was thinking, is it worth changing to the lighter poly side windows from Elise parts? I'm thinking I could probably drill and bolt these to the runner, instead of gluing?
Has anyone used these poly windows? Are they as tough and scratch resistant as Elise parts say? Will they be easier to wind?
I’m also assuming this will affect my insurance?
Thanks in advance.
Adrian

Absolute bore of a job to do but if you do it properly I'm sure it will be better than an araldite job (which I tried but has never really been right).
When I finally get around to doing it properly it will be done to this guide...

Alternatively you can get a dealer to fix you a brand new one for about £100 plus fitting (1hrs labor) if you really can't be arsed.
