Indicator blow out

Bimbling to work this morning, something flew off the front of the car, smacked into the windscreen and disappeared over the roof. It scared the cr*p out of me, I'd no idea what it was, thought perhaps I'd hit a bird. When I stopped and checked the car the front indicator unit was just gone...!

Is this a common problem? Is it likely to happen again? (Had it replaced under warranty).

Yep its a known issue, there is a mod to fix it. You may have a bit of a fight on your hands if paintwork has been damaged as a result, but I'd not let them get away with anything less than a complete repair. I'd emphasise how it nearly caused you to crash etc!

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Definitely get the Lotus fix kit.

Had the same problem myself too, although the light stayed in place held on by the wiring loom! It damaged the paintwork but the lotus dealer fixed the problem and it has been fine since.
