Got an Ardent red on order for mid Sep now....can't wait and will need to drive the Landy for a while. I'm going with Chris Neils which looks a good setup.

Out of curiosity how long do people expect to get out of tyres and pads on an Elise.

Nice one!

Stole this from another thread (my car is only on 7k so I don't know yet):

tyres: cheap ones about £300 a set, rears every 10K, fronts every 15-20K (if you drive it as intended)

Brake discs - varies from 15K to 30K miles - £400-600 a set

Pads - varies from 10-20K miles a set, price from £120 - £200 a set

Bloody hell! Even those super long lasting Michelins arent gonna last much longer than that on the Golf.

Perhaps thats because Im driving it as it wasn't intended!

My advice to anyone with a 111R/S2 'Zige would be a Origin B2 or the like. The crazy, addictive power band will ensure your licence will be pointyfied and lost!

my rears lasted 14k miles
this was with 2 airfield training days
fronts about 17k

think my pads are 70-80% worn at 17k miles

My '52' 111S has done just over 26K. Replaced rear tyres at 17K, cost £210 all in. I'm still on original fronts and factory original brake pads all round, although at my last service, 2K ago, they said my rear pads had about 6K in them.

Incidentally, Lotus dealers tend to fleece you for pads wanting circa £100 for one set of pads, plus fitting!

Thats so not driving as intended with respect to the tyres! Get about 8k out of the rears, 12k from the fronts.

Discs I reckon you should get 25k minimum from if your dealer doesn't try to rip you off with the wrong thickness figure (assuming not using a very hard pad).
