Looking to get an S1 around Christmas time when I've got some money together. Will have £12,500.
Am I realistically going to find a 111S or will I have to settle for a standard car? Condition is all important, I'm looking for a car that's been really well cared for (specialist or Lotus history) and shows no signs of neglect. I definately want leather, not at all fussed about driving lights. Chrome Orange would make my day but would also have Silver, Red, Azure, dark met purple. Possibly LRG.
I've been following Autotrader etc for a few weeks now and no one seems to be selling! Same cars each week. Are there seasonal variations or are we about to see a mini price crash?

1. Market is a little slow at the moment as you point out (think everyones gone on holiday or thinking there maybe some end of season bargains to be had!)
2. At the moment you will struggle to get a proper S1 111S (ie HPI clear, FSH, Sensible mileage) for £12500
3. Colour does have quite a big impact on Elise Resale, Titanium, Silver, Azure make top money, Yellow, Lotus Green, Red make less (talking around £1k I reackon so if you find someone to sell you may be able to steal one!) . Orange is a tricky one, not many about, but not that many buyers for it (that old question of supply and demand!)
4. Pretty well most 111S's come fully speced, only eaver seen one without leather
111S's are one of the more highly prized Elise and with limited volumes around the prices 'should' be fairly firm, they seem to have been floating around the £14-16k mark for the last 18mths.
If you can stretch the budget, then I would, because the 111S will always fetch a premium over the std car and be more sought after
